Face and Neck Contouring
Loose, sagging skin of the face, neck, jowls and chin can be the result of aging and weight fluctuations. This skin laxity can often cause individuals to look and feel older than their age. Face and Neck Contouring procedures can help to reduce the appearance of sagging skin and help you to feel confident in your skin again. FaceTite ™ and NeckTite ™ are two revolutionary technologies designed to gently eliminate stubborn fat while simultaneously re-contouring and firming the face and neck. These technologies use radiofrequency assisted liposuction and dermal heating to effectively contour and tighten the skin.

It also enables Dr. Barr to properly assess you and determine whether you are a suitable candidate for these procedures.
You should be prepared to discuss your medical history, including any medical conditions, drug allergies, medical treatments you have received, previous surgeries, all current medications, as well as any significant weight gain or loss.
During your consultation, Dr. Barr will carefully examine your face, jaw line, and neck area, and will assess your general health. Am I a candidate for a face and neck contouring procedure?
The ideal candidates for Face and Neck Contouring procedures are healthy men and women who have realistic expectations of surgical outcomes. You may be a good candidate for these procedures if you have one or more of the following conditions:
- Loose or sagging skin on face and neck
- Excess skin on face, neck and chin area
Can I combine another surgery with my face and neck contouring procedure?
It may be possible to schedule another surgery at the same time as your face or neck contouring procedure. You should be prepared to discuss all possibilities during your consultation with Dr. Barr.
What will I need to do prior to surgery?
Prior to surgery you will be scheduled for a pre-op session with a Registered Nurse to review your medical history and your post-op instructions. She will review all of the information you will need to know in order to prepare yourself for surgery.
Where will my procedure be performed?
Your procedure will be performed within the state-of-the-art facilities of Barr Plastic Surgery, located within the Northern Ontario Surgical Centre.

With two levels and entrances that conceal the actual size of the facility, the centre itself spans 8000 square feet and incorporates fully equipped major and minor operating rooms, a monitored multi-bed recovery area, 10 laser and treatment rooms, spacious consultation areas, private offices to discuss financing options, elegant waiting areas and a private waiting and secure rear entrance/exit for additional privacy when desired.
How are the FaceTite™ and NeckTite™ procedures performed?
The FaceTite procedure is used to treat skin laxity in small localized areas. This procedure is effective for loose skin that requires contouring and tightening but does not require fat removal. It can be performed around the eyes, eyebrows, forehead, cheeks and mouth. When compared to traditional facelift procedures, patients who are candidates for FaceTite™ benefit from the lack of incisions, quicker recovery time, and less swelling and discomfort.
The NeckTite™ procedure is used to treat sagging skin that requires contouring in the neck and jowls and can also be used on the upper arms, inner thighs or other small areas. It gently melts and removes excess fat in the area and the gentle and controlled heating helps to contour and tighten the treatment area.
Under local anaesthetic and sedation, a few small incisions are made and the small cannula is inserted just underneath the skin. The radiofrequency energy is then used to heat the skin. This energy helps to break down fat cells, tighten the skin and create a more contoured appearance.
Which areas do FaceTite™ and NeckTite™ treat?
FaceTite™ and NeckTite™ are ideal for small treatment areas require tightening including: neck, jowls, lower eyes, arms, inner thighs, breasts and knees.
How soon can I expect results?
While many patients report immediate results, full results are noted after 8-12 weeks, once new collagen is produced and the skin tightens.
What is the difference between FaceTite™ and NeckTite™ and traditional liposuction?
Many factors including aging and weight gain can cause your skin to become loose and lose its elasticity. While traditional liposuction can remove fat deposits, it does not treat skin laxity. FaceTite ™ and NeckTite ™ have the ability to simultaneously firm and tighten the treatment area, allowing for superior contouring results. FaceTite ™ and NeckTite ™ are performed under local anesthetic or light sedation, rather than general anaesthetic, offering a safer, gentler approach to liposuction.
